Our Name
Our legal name registered with the State of Kansas is Crafted Collective, Inc.
We do business as (dba) Crafted: a fair trade collective.
We commonly refer to ourselves (greeting customer-friends, answering the phone, etc.) as Crafted.
Why did you change your name from Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park to Crafted?
Simply, so that our local, brick and mortar store has the opportunity to purchase more handmade crafts from more fair trade artisans and farmers.
Will Crafted continue to be a not-for-profit, volunteer-run, fair trade store?
Yes! Crafted Collective, Inc. is incorporated as a 501c3 with the US Internal Revenue Service and registered in the State of Kansas.
Yes! From the friendly-face that welcomes you to the decision-maker around the table… volunteers are the heart of Crafted.
Yes! Crafted is a verified member of the Fair Trade Federation and the only 100% fair trade store in the Kansas City Metro area. Please refer to our Product Sourcing Guidelines for further information (coming soon!)
Will you continue to sell products from Ten Thousand Villages US?
Yes! All of your favorites like the Unity Sculpture from Kenya and the Bicycle Pizza Cutter from India are available at Crafted!
Can I place a special order for a Ten Thousand Villages US product that is not in stock at Crafted?
Yes, if the product is in stock and available for us to order from Ten Thousand Villages US.
Can I use a Ten Thousand Villages US gift card as payment at Crafted?
Ten Thousand Villages US gift cards may be used as payment at Crafted through December 31, 2024.
Can I purchase a Ten Thousand Villages US gift card from Crafted?
No. Ten Thousand Villages US gift cards can be purchased at tenthousandvillages.com or a Ten Thousand Villages branded store.
Does Crafted offer gift cards?
Yes! Crafted gift cards are available for purchase in store and will soon be available for purchase at craftedfairtrade.org.
Can I return Ten Thousand Villages US products to Crafted?
Yes AND No. With the exception of FINAL SALE items (Dr. Bronner’s Soap, Katari Slow Beauty Products and Clearance Items), any item purchased at Crafted may be returned to Crafted within 30 days with receipt. Items purchased at tenthousandvillages.com or a Ten Thousand Villages branded store may not be returned to Crafted.
Will Crafted participate in Ten Thousand Villages US promotions and discounts?
No. Crafted will not participate in Ten Thousand Villages US promotions and discounts.
Will my FiveStars Rewards still be valid?
Yes! However, we are exploring alternative rewards and text-messaging programs. Should Crafted change programs, every effort will be made to ensure that points, rewards and communication preferences are honored.
I receive emails from Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park and Ten Thousand Villages US, will I receive email communication from Crafted?
Yes! If you currently receive emails from Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park, you will receive messages from Crafted. If you also receive email from Ten Thousand Villages US, that should continue, and preference changes can be made at tenthousandvillages.com. As of June 1, 2024, if a customer-friend has requested to receive email communication from the store, that communication will only be sent from hello@craftedfairtrade.org. Hello@craftedfairtrade.org can be added to your contacts to ensure delivery.
Will Crafted location and hours change?
No and No. We will continue to call 7947 Santa Fe Drive in Downtown Overland Park home and our hours will not change from: Monday-Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am to 5pm; Thursday 10am to 7pm and; Sunday 12-4pm
