Ceramic Chulucanas Tapir

This adorable tapir makes a whimsical addition to any space! Using the Chulucanas pottery technique, artisans feature shades of black and white or black, white, yellow, teal or red. Chulucanas pottery was developed in northern Peru using techniques from pre-Incan times. The art form experienced a revival beginning in the 1970's and ceramists have since expanded the color repertoire to create beautiful multicolor pieces. Each animal is signed by the artist.
