By Your Side Lost Wax Bronze

Sisters or friends; this stunning sculpture depicts two women walking together. A small group of talented metal casting artisans in Burkina Faso cast their sculptures from recycled metal using a lost-wax casting process. First, the sculpture is carved in beeswax. Next, a clay mold is formed around it, and then the wax is melted away, leaving a void to fill with molten bronze. Each sculpture bears unique characteristics that reveal the handmade nature of its creation.
