Breaking Waves Raffia & Banana Leaf Basket

This larger-sized basket is perfect as a statement wall piece! Featuring a rich palette of tan and blue shades, the design resembles a breaking wave. Handcrafted by women artisans from the Batoro tribe living in the very rural mountains of Western Uganda. These weavers are a part of a cooperative that provides training to single mothers, widows and other marginalized women who are subsistence farmers and weave baskets to provide additional income.

• Crafted from raffia, banana fiber and locally sourced, AZO free natural dyes
• Women artisans grow, harvest and make all the natural dyes which takes a great deal of knowledge and skill to produce
