This colorful necklace features brightly-dyed, organically-shaped tagua slices. Tagua is an ivory-like nut harvested from palm trees indigenous to the South American countryside. As an alternative to ivory, it helps to discourage poaching and prevents deforestation, while creating employment opportunities for farmers and artisans.
