This hand-batiked potholder will be your new kitchen superhero! Stuffed with foam layers and heat-resistant fabric, it fearlessly defends your hands from scorching pots and pans, making cooking a breeze and burns a thing of the past! Each potholder is batiked and sewn by artisans working with Global Mamas in Ghana. Batik is an ancient fabric art in which a hot wax resist is painted or stamped onto fabric then dyed. It has been practiced in Ghana for generations, typically by women. The Global Mamas community in Cape Coast is made up of nearly 100 independent, fair trade, women-owned businesses.
